Cat. #0019941111: MARY PHILBIN

Uncommon inscribed, handwritten and boldly signed note in blue ballpoint pen on a 3x5-inch tan card, dating to the 1970s. Fun in that she adds, "Wishing you and your friend the best ever, and enjoy the 'silents' as much as I do!" In good condition, with mild toning. Best remembered as Christine Daae, menaced by Lon Chaney, Sr. in the silent horror classic The Phantom of the Opera (1925), lovely silent leading lady Mary Philbin also starred in another silent thriller, playing Dee in The Man Who Laughs (1928), opposite a disfigured Conrad Veidt.
