Superb, quite early 11x14-inch matte-finish portrait by Freulich, boldly signed in black fountain pen and dated 1932. In good condition, with gentle edge wear. Handsome John Boles, leading man of the silent and early talkie eras, is remembered as the star of the horror classic Frankenstein (1931). He was also memorable in Paul Leni's thriller The Last Warning (1929) and William Dieterle's sci-fi film 6 Hours to Live (1932).
